![]() Following the end of the war, he was stationed in southern France where he participated in the"Green Project" ferrying former American POW's out of Germany. He was stationed at Poddington Air Field in England and flew 18 bombing missions over Germany. He was proud of his service in the Eighth Air Force as a top turret gunner flying B-17's. At 18, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps. He graduated from high school in Dimmitt, Texas in 1942 and enrolled in West Texas State College in Canyon, Texas. He also spent several summers at his grandparents' ranch in Tucumcari, New Mexico. He was raised by his father, a pharmacist and owner of drugstores in several small communities in west Texas and Santa Rosa, New Mexico. Julius was born in Wichita, Kansas on the only child of Herman C. Darsey, a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, died peacefully at Presbyterian Hospital on Tuesday, January 7, 2003. Lucius worked for Railway Express for 20 years, he was employed by Qwest for 15 years as a printer and retired in 1997. He is survived by his sister, Jean Tuttle of Albuquerque niece, Lori Bausback and husband, Eric and their family, Jeremy and Brandon Davis all of San Jose, CA nephew, Jeffrey McCall Carlon and his family, Nathan McCall and Alex Jeffrey Carlon all of Sandy, UT numerous cousins including, Mary Lou Sinnott and family, Cori, Tim, Mike, Carina and Miguel Sinnott Jim, Becky, Jimmy and Jennifer Tuttle all of Albuquerque, Bob and Cindy Jacks of Kerrville, TX, Pat and Angie Hodges and family, Bob and Diane Tuttle all of Tennessee, Jerry, Sylvia, Mark and Daniel McCall Tuttle, Bill, Kathy, Matthew Tuttle and family, Charles McCall and Jimmie Tuttle all of Dallas, TX and dear friend, Geraldine Campbell of Albuquerque. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the AUUF.Lucius McCall"Mac" Tuttle, 72, a resident of Albuquerque since 1938, passed away on January 9, 2003. David is survived by his wife Ellen, of Albuquerque a brother, Tom Robinson, of Los Angeles son, John Robinson of Longmont, CO daughter, Paula of Broomfield, CO and one grandchild. He was an active member of the Albuquerque Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (AUUF). David was an advocate for human rights and equality, a founder of the faculty union at YSU, and a volunteer for efforts supporting workers rights, racial equality, and gay, lesbian, and transgendered individuals. He made it his mission to teach critical thinking and communication skills to young people. Robinson taught and coached the speech team at Youngstown State University in Ohio from 1972 until his retirement in 1998. He studied at Pepperdine College, Purdue University, the University of New Mexico, and the University of Southern California, achieving a PhD in Speech Communication in 1972. ![]() He was honorably discharged from the U.S. David was born July 25, 1932, in Van Nuys, California, to Eleanor Carr Robinson and Thomas Robinson.
